Financial Aid for Going Green

 

 

Ireland is tasked with reducing carbon emissions by 51% by 2030

 

Now more than ever Ireland is actively encouraging businesses to invest in sustainable products, services, and business models to help reduce carbon emissions and work towards a climate-neutral economy. The target is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 51% by 2030 and to be a climate-neutral economy by 2050.

 

Enterprise Ireland has set up the Green Transition Fund as Financial support for businesses. These are:

  1. Climate Planning Fund for Business
  2. Enterprise Emissions Reduction Fund.

 

Climate Planning Fund for Business

The following financial support is available:

This voucher is to help companies develop a plan to initiate sustainable actions towards decarbonisation and a circular economy action plan.

 

 

€1800 grant available for independent advisory services

GreenStart Grant

 

This grant is provided to companies to improve sustainability, it is to support the hiring of an external environmental expert who can develop high-level environmental management capabilities and drive environmental efficiencies.

 

 

Companies can receive up to €5,000 in grants, covering 80% of the cost, to hire a Green Service Provider for a 7-day in-house assignment.

Micro-enterprises operating in the manufacturing and some of the internationally traded services sectors.

• Non-Enterprise Ireland Clients who are Small enterprises with between 10 – 50 employees in the manufacturing and internationally traded services sectors.

GreenPlus Grant

 

This grant is to enhance sustainability, a Green Plus Grant will be used to hire an external environmental expert to develop high-level environmental management capabilities and drive environmental efficiencies.

 

 

Up to €50,000 in grant aid is available covering 50% of eligible costs.

Strategic Consultancy

 

This grant is to assist with the development and execution of strategic plans for sustainability and decarbonization.

 

 

Under the medium programme, businesses can receive up to €35,000 or 50% of eligible costs for hiring a consultant. The short programme offers up to 80% of eligible costs.

Enterprise Emissions Reduction Fund.

Through this fund, your company could be eligible for up to €1m in funding if you are a manufacturing business and a client of Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, or Údarás na Gaeltachta.

The following financial assistance is available to businesses:

Investment for (EM& T) Energy Monitoring and Systems

This is to support companies in implementing monitoring and targeting systems to account for their carbon footprint.

 

 

 

A company can receive financial support for up to 50% of the eligible costs, with a maximum support amount of €50,000.

Capital Investment for Decarbonisation processing

 

Investing in technologies that help reduce carbon emissions from manufacturing combustion processes.

 

 

 

The grant amount ranges from 30% to 50% and the maximum support offered is €1m.

Innovation Vouchers

 

To support SMEs in addressing sustainability and decarbonisation challenges with registered knowledge providers.

 

 

€5,000 per company exploring

Exploring Innovation

 

To support sustainability and decarbonisation research, development, and innovation projects.

 

 

Up to 50% of eligible costs. Typical maximum support of €35k

Research & Development

 

To drive sustainability and decarbonisation, develop innovative products, services, and processes.

 

 

Grant is dependent on company size and project type.

Agile Innovation

 

To develop new or substantially improved products, services, or processes, in the areas of sustainability and decarbonisation.

 

 

Up to 50% of eligible costs. Typical maximum support of €150k

 

The Energy Efficiency Grant

Small businesses with less than 50 employees they may be eligible for €5000 towards energy-efficient technology and equipment.

 

EXCEED Grant Scheme

The Excellence in Energy Efficiency Design (EXEED) is a program that offers incentives to businesses to promote energy efficiency. The program provides grants of up to €3,000,000 per project to successful applicants.

 

The EXEED grant scheme can help you fund the design of energy-efficient heating, cooling, refrigeration, compressed air, and business processes. For instance, you can improve insulation, install electric vehicle chargers, install air handling units with heat recovery, or install energy-efficient heating and/or cooling equipment.

 

The grant scheme is open to all sectors, organizations, and projects. It does not matter the scale or complexity of your project.
