Tony has over 40 years’ experience in leadership roles in the Water Industry, progressing from site electrician and instrumentation technician, through workshop management to project design and management. He moved into a leadership role as part-owner and manager of a specialist design-build contractor and latterly as part of the owner/management team at WEW Consulting Engineers. Meanwhile Tony obtained an MSc (Mgt.) in International Business from TCD. Tony has worked in Ireland, UK, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Slovenia.

A particular interest in the industry is now on sustainability and carbon footprint, with a focus on energy reduction, nutrient recovery, and water recycling/reuse. In line with this Tony has specific expertise in the design, specification, and application of advanced instrumentation and process control systems. This incorporates facilitating process control and the operation of a wide range of water and wastewater treatment technologies including, but not limited to, aerobic and anaerobic treatment, membrane systems and advanced oxidation.

He has a wide knowledge of the water industry market internationally, including the latest trends and developments. He has authored and contributed to several studies and reports for various clients, covering treatment process options for proposed new water and wastewater treatment plants or upgrades to existing plants in both municipal and industrial sectors including dairy, distilleries, agri-food, pharma, energy, and many other sectors in Ireland and abroad.
