Umut holds a Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng.) in Engineering and Environmental Engineering and a Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Environmental Engineering.

As a project and process engineer, Umut specialises in water and wastewater management. His career is driven by a passion for environmental protection and improving water quality through innovative technologies. Umut’s professional experience spans several countries, including Turkey, Lithuania, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and Norway, where he has worked on diverse industrial water and wastewater projects, from design to on-site commissioning of treatment plants. He has extensive knowledge in water and wastewater treatment design and expertise in Membrane Bioreactor (MBR), Reverse Osmosis (RO), chemical treatment, and advanced oxidation processes.

Umut is proficient in modelling and simulation software such as SUMO and WAVE, as well as engineering software like AutoCAD and Lumion. His Master’s thesis focused on developing decision-making software to evaluate the best treatment technologies among various alternatives. He has provided specialist services across industries such as textiles, copper mining, boron mining, leachate management, and meat and fish farming. Currently, Umut is centrally involved in WEW Engineering, focusing on process design for systems in the biopharma industry, milk industry, brewing and distilling industry, and daily water, wastewater, and solids handling processes.
